IMPORTANT!!!!!!
 
The May 20th meeting and beyond we will be meeting at the Hobbs farm and not the church for our regular troop meetings. Time is still 6:30 and here is a link to a map that shows the location. See you there !!!!! :)

Troop Service Project!!!
Clean up at Camp Wanake on May 18th. 
We will meet at the Church at 8am and return back by 2:30pm
 
Please wear work gloves 
 
This is an easy way to earn your service hours!!!!! Come have some fun with the troop and help your community and troop sponsor.
 
 
 
SUMMER CAMP UPDATES JULY 7-13th
 The list of merit badges and any extra costs associated with them has been released. Please take a look at this and find the ones you are interested in working on for summer camp!

Registration will open soon so stay posted!!!

New this year Trail Mountain Biking Program

We also need to have the BSA medical forms updated for camp and can be found on the Summer camp Page.

They are due Monday June 17th.

                             

 
Due to the UMU construction next to the church, parking is a premium. The university has agreed to allow parking for church business in their lot. University security will continue to enforce parking restrictions with students and will ticket cars without UMU or UAUMC Parking Pass. Anyone ticketed who is participating in any church related business (Boy Scout or Cub Pack included) will have their ticket voided at the UMU security office, BUT to avoid this hassle, please print and use the pass linked below.

We have been asked to park in the gravel parking lot behind the Dollar store if at all possible to help with the limited parking that is available. We will try and have someone at the door on the south side of the church so we can easily enter thru there.
  


The troop will help  place  flags on the graves of veterans that have passed. We will meet at the Mount Union cemetery on May 25th @ 9am.

              We will be picking them back up June 1st @ 9am





May 27th Alliance Memorial Day parade.
Come help us remember those who gave their life for our freedom!!!! 

We will meet at Freedom Square @ 9am for the service followed by the Parade to Alliance City Cemetery.

We will not have a troop meeting this day.

Come join other church members on July 26th for the Akron Aeros game!!! Game starts at 7:05 PM !!!!

The cost is not to exceeded $10 and we will meet at UAUMC @ 5pm to leave for the game.



Survival Scenario Camp out Sept 13-15th. Scouts will be presented with a survival scenario that they will have to "Survive". This will be held at the Barkers Farm. More details to come!!!



TROOP 101 EXCELLS IN 2012!!!

   
Troop 101 finished 2012 by earning two top awards from the Buckeye Council BSA. This is the second year in a row that we have won this. The Journey to Excellence - GOLD Award and the Training Excellence Award.
As a GOLD level Journey to Excellence unit, the troop exceeded the top tier national goals for Advancement, Retention, Growth, Training, Camping, Youth Leadership, Service, Recruiting, Budgeting, and Award Recognition.
To earn the Training Excellence Award our unit exceeded the council requirements for scoutmaster, assistant scoutmaster and committee chairman training, youth participation in National Youth Leadership Training, round table training attendance, staffing council training, participation in adult position specific training, attending the Baden-Powell Institute, and conducting youth Troop Leader Training.
A special GREAT JOB goes out to ALL youth and adult members for their participation and dedication to continuous improvement, growth, and fun within Troop 101. We have an awesome program.

 PATROL LEADERS COUNCIL 
     Our next monthly Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) meeting is TBD.
     PLC Members: SPL, ASPL, PLs, Guides.

 SANDY BEAVER DISTRICT ROUNDTABLE 
Next meeting May 9th. Program is Nature/Forestry.

May 9th the topic will be Physical Fitness/Sports.
 
Round-Table is the the place for information for our adults on leadership and training development and upcoming program for our district and council. The meetings continue monthly on the second Thursday of every month, same
time, same place. Join us!
 TROOP COMMITTEE 

    The next Troop 101 Committee meeting will be June 4th at 7:00 pm. at the church. 
     Parents, you don't have to be registered on the committee to attend.  Any interested parent may attend to observe, make helpful comments, suggestions, and learn more about the operation and planning of our top quality troop.

 BSA 2013 NATIONAL JAMBOREE 

     Now is the time to consider attending the next National Jamboree, July 15-24, 2013, at it's new location in West Virginia. All details may be found by following the links below. Applications are being accepted by our council for a limited number of spots.
     This is an experience you will never forget. The cost is spread over payments the coming months, you have time for fundraisers and saving, ACT NOW and APPLY!      Talk to your scoutmaster for application details.
     We already have scouts signed up, join them for the experience!  Think you're interested? Talk to Troop 101 scouts and adults who have attended a Jamboree: Scoutmaster Hobbs, Chairman Park, Mason Monter, Landon Monter.


 ORDER OF THE ARROW 
     The Order of the Arrow (OA) is a national organization with local council lodges. The Buckeye Council OA Lodge is Sipp-O #377. It is an honor group of select scout who best exemplify the ideals of scouting, camping, and cheerful service.  Candidates for membership are elected annually by the entire troop body. 

Next OA Elections will be the April 1st troop meeting
 
ATTENTION CURRENT MEMBERS!  
     The Sandy Beaver District holds a monthly OA members meeting during the adult leaders Roundtable at Camp McKinley 7:15 pm the second Thursday of the month.  All members are invited to attend.
